Not to be confused with Ferber--a moment of quiet reverence for the man who helped both of my children to sleep through the night-- Elaine Farber's book, Baby Lists, is another must-have in the "preparing for baby" book department. Actually, I think both Ferber and Farber's books will be the ones I'll give to expecting friends or family members from now on. Baby Lists is the only "what to do and what to get" resource you'll need to prepare for the new addition. From buying and packing a diaper bag to travelling accessories and safety products, it's not only comprehensive but easy to read. Forgoing lengthy chapters and long articles, the book is presented in short paragraphs and lists as a reference for when you need it. Highlight your favorites and take it to register; Baby Lists does everything but put the kids to bed for you!Cool Giveaway: Win a copy of Baby Lists by Elaine Farber for yourself or as a gift for an expecting mom! My biggest tip- sleep when the baby sleeps- everything else will still be there when ou wake up- and the world is not gonna end if there is extralaundry
the other one- tell friends and family when they call you really need to rest= be bold and blunt- so they do not come over and hang when you are getting on track mrs.mommyyatgmaildotcom
sleep when you get a chance
My best 2 tips are to take any and all help offered, cooking, cleaning and other chores. Yes I know it will NOT be done the way you do it. But at least it will be done.
and sleep, get your rest too.
My biggest tip is that you can't take too many photos. Especially in the age of digital pics, just keep snapping away. It'll seem excessive at the time, but you'll look back at those pictures so fondly.
organize your layette before baby gets here -. If you are a first time mom have a seasoned mom help you organize what you REALLY need. You will not have time to organize after baby comes home :)
have everything set up in the nursery before baby comes. Also make sure to sleep whenever you get the chance. Nap when baby naps. Thanks for the giveaway!
Hi, remember to look after yourself as well! It is easier said than done. Also, remember to enjoy the baby, and not see everything revolving around as chores. I sadly feel I missed out on enjoying my baby as I was always cleaning, making others happy.

My tip is if anyone offers to come over and cook a meal or even do you laundry, Accept IT! Also sleep when your baby sleeps.

My best tip is to work on a schedule as soon as you can(obviously you have to wait a little while), I didn't with my first and went crazy, second was scheduled, maybe to well, but it really saved my sanity!
My new baby tip is to have all the clothes washed and ready to go - as well as the other things you'll need, like diapers, unwrapped and ready. Thanks for the chance! alicedemske at hotmail.com
i don't yet have children but i think this book would become helpful to me in the future. here is my preparing for baby question, are cloth diapers better than disposable?

My best tip is to let people help you and don't think you have to be "the perfect mom" b/c you won't be.

My tip would be to let the baby stay in the nursery at night while you are in the hospital. That way you can get some rest before you go home, and you'll have plenty of time then to bond with the baby.
I'm preparing for baby...so my biggest thing is that I want to use cloth diapers and have no idea where to start...what ones are the best, where do I find them, how many should I have minimum, and how much is this gonna cost me?!!
My 2 tips would be 1. Take a pictures of baby every month, even if it's just a few. 2. Patience, enjoy everything about the Baby, make everyday give you as much as possible. It will go by way to fast.
Thank you for the opportunity.

Take a picture every month and keep a baby book! You will forget things over time, trust me! Also, sleep often
Give the baby their bath in the evening to help them sleep better.
we are not expecting at this time. still TTC, but i would like to gift this to my cousin who is due in end of decemeber. she could use this.
My best baby tip....just enjoy this time with them, because they grow up way too fast!

When someone asks what they can do to help, let them! They might be thrilled to help doing things that may not give you pleasure... folding clothes, cooking, whatever! Give them the pleasure of helping you.
Listen and love!

I live in an apartment and am afraid the noise of a new baby will disrupt my neighbors. Is this really a problem, or am I panicking based on stories of friends' experiences with colic and un-happy infants?
my best tip lots of hugs and kisses :)
This be great my son and daughter-in-law are expecting their first baby!
sleep when the baby sleeps and take up on offers if someone wants to help u out!
My favorite is have a ball.

I am trying to get pregnant and have had friends who chose not to tell people they were pregnant until they were "in the clear". Which seems to be around the 3 month mark? I know that there can always be something unfortunate that happens throughout the pregnany, but am curious if there is in fact a time toward the begining of pregnany where the risk of a miscarriage substantially drops?
I heard that it is not a good idea to carry your baby in a sling. Can this possibly be true?
