Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood
Since CBK is a resource for moms, babies & kids...this one is for moms. You absolutely must check out Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. I've seen an episode here or there of previous seasons, but I'm telling you, every mom will love this one; it's hilarious and so comforting to know all moms (even famous ones) deal with similar issues. I easily related to this mega star mom in an episode where she was pregnant, exhausted and planning a 1st birthday party. Just last summer I was in the same boat and remember the worries when things didn't always go according to plan (rain!) Tori is engaging, funny and surprisingly real...just one warning, you'll be addicted...non-Tivo customers need not apply.
Cool Tip: Tori & Dean are on Oxygen Tuesday night at 10 p.m. EST.

Hipster Hugs
In the world of baby/kid apparel, it's hard to stand out. The advent of sites such as Cafe Press have made tees with cute sayings easy to find (though still often adorable). Luckily, I have discovered for my loyal CBK readers truly unique clothing for your wee ones called Hispter Hugs. Create by a mom, this line for babies, kids and moms looks like none other. Quality clothing with super cute appliques, Hispter Hugs is worthy of a "Where'd you get that?" from other moms. Even better, they personalize (you pick the tee, fabric etc.) with your initial...how cool is that? On a side note, when you visit out their webpage which is really nice, check out the favicon (little graphic in the address bar at the top)...it is the cutest ever! Let me know if you love Hipster Hugs as much as I do.
Cool Giveaway: One lucky Cool Baby Kid reader will receive a free tee from Hipster Hugs! Click here to find out how to increase your chances of winning. An email address is needed to contact the winner. Contest ended. Congratulations Andrea! Contest rules apply.

Nurse in Public Privately

Slurp & Burp Nursing Wrap
I had a hard time with the title because I didn't know if I should call the Slurp & Burp a wrap, cover or something else because it really is unlike anything I've ever seen. It is the most discreet way I've found to nurse baby in public. Because the Slurp & Burp is worn like a sash and the baby is not completely covered, it looks like you are simply holding your baby. But the innovative design allows the material to part with just enough room to feed without being exposed. Choose from a variety of stylish materials like "Bubble Gum" pictured. Slurp and Burp makes it easy to nurse in private even in public. Another great mom invention!
Cool Tip: Receive a special 50% discount for 2 days only (6/18-6/20) on the "Naturally Organic" Slurp & Burp.
Cool Giveaway: Two Cool Baby Kid readers will receive a Slurp & Burp of their choice. To enter, just leave a comment on this post answering the question, "Where would be a good place to use the Slurp & Burp?" An email address is needed in order to contact the winner. Click here to find out how to increase your chances of winning. Contest ended. Congratulations Kristinia & Belinda!

Diaper Bag Review: I Found a Good One!
Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Fleurville Lexi Tote
Any mom of multiple kids knows, another baby is an opportunity to change up the old diaper bag and start shopping! My search was extensive; after all, I would be carting this around everywhere and had high standards as a 2nd time mom. Fleurville delivered. I LOVE my Lexi Tote for these reasons: it's stylish, can be wiped down and therefore won't ever look worn, has a waterproof main compartment, comes with the "SlipNot" stroller attachment (very cool), and the outside compartments are convenient for anything you need quick. The hardest decision you'll have is choosing your bag style!
Cool Tip: Buy bags for kids and baby at eBags and get free shipping. (Look for "Fleurville, Diaper Totes" for the Lexi)

Tees for Newborn, Toddler, Sibling & More...
When celebrities love something, Cool Baby Kid has to check it out. After browsing through Little Show Offs collection of fun tees for everyone from "brand new" baby to mom & dad, you'll see why we love this site too. They make perfect gifts that let baby speak for himself, whether it's to proclaim "Eat Sleep Poo Cry" or "Democrat in Training." Their signature "Brand New" pictured on the left works well for baby boy or girl. This is one cool line I love!
Cool Pick: "Into Everything" for toddler says it all.

Chic Nursing Covers for Breastfeeding Moms
Thursday, April 3, 2008
Bebe Au Lait/Hooter Hiders Nursing Covers
When Bella was 6 weeks old we took her to Disneyworld; my cousin Nancy, who breastfed four girls, laughed when I ran off to hide and feed the baby, telling me I'd have to learn to nurse in public. Thanks for the lesson! And thanks to Bebe Au Lait who makes the nursing in public chic. Michael, baby #2, not only will be eating in public but will be doing it in style. The covers are designed so you can look down and see baby without having to smother him (or her) or expose yourself while the cover stays in place. It makes a perfect gift for a breastfeeding mom, especially since they also are sold under the more cheeky name "Hooter Hiders". This is one cool product!
Cool Pick: Get Chocolat, my favorite pattern; it's great for boy or girl.

My Favorite Nursing Bra
Friday, January 4, 2008
Bravado Nursing Bras
I received a Bravado nursing bra in a "nursing basket" given to me by a friend for my baby shower. I had no idea at the time it would be my favorite nursing bra and favorite "around the house" bra even when I wasn't nursing. For me to put a bra on my Chrismtas list, as I did this year since one just wasn't enough, it must be good! (Side Note: Hubby bought one for me as a gift. It's white with black polka dots...don't wear this bra with a light colored shirt.) Though I haven't tried the others, Bravado also carries bras for out and about as well.

Best Nursing Gown Ever
Saturday, November 24, 2007
Aimee Nursing Gowns
I have to credit my mom with this fabulous find. She gave me an Aimee gown for nursing, but honestly I've worn it pregnant, nursing, and non-pregnant/nursing because it's so comfortable. The gown will grow up and down with with your belly and other attributes and no having to wear a nursing bra to bed!

What's cooler than "Cool Baby Kid"? Well, it's hard to compete by glamajama comes close. I'm a sucker for anything the celebrities love and their stuff has been worn by tons of cool folks. Check out their unique mom, baby and toddler tanks, tees and long sleeve shirts.

Family Planning Chart

What's On Tap This Week
I created a simple chart called "What's On Tap" designed specifically for us to know what's going on for the week...I thought I'd share. It helps hubby and I communicate the plans as well as frustrations and stay a happy family! :) Filling in the blank with "This week I'd like you to take out the garbage more" is so much nicer than "Can you please (sarcastically) take out the garbage if you have a second during a break in the Master's Championship you're riveted to?" Plus, I really had to start writing down my points (Weight Watcher's) if I ever want to loose baby weight. All that in one little sheet for the fridge? You bet!
Cool Tip: Change or alter it however you'd like to fit your family. Oh yeah, don't forget to fill it in otherwise it really doesn't work!

About Cool Baby Kid
Cecelia, mom of two and author of Cool Baby Kid, blogs about cool resources and products for moms, babies & kids.
How I Got Started
I am an English teacher by trade and mom to toddler Bella and baby Michael. I also love to shop (hence the cosmetics company and blog) as well as running, backpacking, skiing, writing, travelling and being with my family.
In 2005 I started a cosmetics company which got me online more. I started a blog but never posted, not really even sure what blogging was all about. An ardent shopper and deal hunter, friends would ask me about unique products I hunted down, and so I kept a list to send to them. Also wanting to write Bella & Michael's story and record every milestone, I kept a webpage with these details as well as all of the resources I gathered along the way, whether it was about traveling with kids or how to get the baby to sleep. Then in the fall of 2008, as my list of cool finds began to grow, I decided to learn more about blogging and combine the two. Cool Baby Kid became a "one stop cool stuff stop" of all the neat products and resources I gathered as a mom.
I only post when I want to share something I love and not for the sake of posting. In other words, no fluff! I've tried and tested every product and will not post about something I don't like. (You know what mom always said, if you don't have anything nice to say...) I'm never paid to write so you can be sure of the integrity of every single review.
I Hope to Hear From You!
I hope you find a cool product or helpful resource as you read Cool Baby Kid. I'm always looking for neat new finds so be sure to send me your thoughts or ideas...I'd love the hear them! And if you sell something you think would be a great fit with my site, please complete the product submission form, though if you read above you know submission doesn't guarantee a review.
Thanks for reading!
Cecelia
